Scholarships of up to $65,000 for undergraduate and graduate students in New Zealand
The University of Waikato, New Zealand, is accepting applications for scholarships of up to NZD$20,000 for international undergraduate and postgraduate students. Opportunities are for students who are not yet enrolled at the institution and who wish to start one of the face-to-face courses in 2023.
After two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, New Zealand reopened its borders and resumed issuing student visas regularly in early August 2022. In addition to the NZD$20,000 scholarships, the university is offering a 20% discount on online versions of undergraduate and graduate courses starting in the second half of this year.
How Scholarships Work
A variety of undergraduate and graduate programs are offered under the scholarship program. Scholar selection criteria include academic merit and “potential to be a global ambassador for the University of Waikato,” explains the notice. To participate in the program, you must:
- Apply and be approved for a full-time undergraduate or graduate program as an international student;
- Submit your GPA results ( see this link for more information about the GPA test );
- Commit to attend every year of the chosen program in person;
- A motivation/introduction letter with a maximum of 100 words explaining “why you want to study at the University of Waikato, and another 100 words to tell you “how you will be a global ambassador for the University of Waikato”.
