This year’s edition of the Deutschlandstipendium (German scholarship) program is open for enrollment. The scholarships offer monthly grants and academic mentorship for undergraduate and master’s students who wish to study in the country.

Germany is one of the most accessible countries for those who want to study outside Brazil, as it has a large number of public universities with total exemption from tuition fees, just like in Brazil. However, at these institutions, students have to pay a semester administrative fee, which usually does not exceed € 250.

To assist fellows, the program provides monthly allowances of €300, which cover all administrative fees and help with day-to-day living expenses. The amount is funded by the Government of Germany in partnership with private institutions. In addition to financial aid, the Deutschlandstipendium includes a mentoring program and university networking events.

How the program works

According to the Deutschlandstipendium website , the program “supports highly talented students” and the criteria for selection of fellows consider academic history, social commitment and personal achievements “such as overcoming challenges or obstacles of the student in their social or family background” .

In order to apply for scholarships, it is necessary to carry out the selection process of the German educational institution where you want to study. Grants last for one year and can be renewed for the duration of the chosen course. In this link ( available here), is the list of all universities participating in the program.
